MD's Statements 

It has to be noted that the Brakpan Bus Company SOC LTD has faced serious challenges over the past few years and the impact of those challenges has led to poor performance as an entity on service delivery mandates. An informed assessment on the entity was conducted to identify root causes of the challenges faced by an entity which revealed the following:

  1. The entity operated without a business strategy and the annual plan.
  2. Absence of the shareholder’s compact and the expectation.
  3. The entity operated without a business strategy and the annual plan.
  4. Inadequate set-up of critical department accompanied by a series of under-qualified senior. management
  5. Consistent reduction of key performance indicators for the past three (3) years which work against growth.

It is hereby certified that the Strategic Plan for the Brakpan Bus Company SOC LTD was developed by Management under the guidance of the Board of Directors and the following areas have been identified as key-focus for the next five (5) years:

  1. Strong financial stability through a clear funding model that has been developed.
  2. Clear and informed target setting (KPIs) in the correct / aligned performance areas.
  3. Clear shareholder’s compact and its expectations that must be adhered to.
  4. A performing organisation accompanied by adequate resources including qualified personnel in leadership positions.
  5. Strong financial stability through a clear funding model that has been developed.
  6. Strong relations with its stakeholders including the taxi industry, commuters & labour environment through some strategic consultations.
  7. A more digital organisation in terms of its processes and communication accompanied by a strong branding strategy & its positioning.

The Strategy took into account all relevant policies that the Brakpan Bus Company SOC LTD is responsible for, and accurately reflects the clear strategic goals and objectives which the Brakpan Bus Company SOC LTD will endeavour to achieve over the 2019 – 2024 term of governance.
